Niveshan partnered with a prestigious university, an initiative by the Government of India, specifically designed to cater to students from across South Asia. The core objective was to establish a robust, secure, and high-performance IT infrastructure that would enable students, faculty, and administration to conduct diverse curricula, research, and administrative tasks in a seamlessly connected and protected environment. This project was critical to fostering a state-of-the-art learning ecosystem, supporting both traditional and digital pedagogical approaches.

Requirements: A Foundation for Academic Excellence

The university's vision for a modern, digitally-enabled campus necessitated a foundational IT infrastructure capable of supporting a wide range of academic and administrative functions. Key requirements included:

  • High-Speed Connectivity: The need for ubiquitous, high-speed network access across classrooms, laboratories, administrative offices, and student residences to support online learning platforms, research databases, and general internet access.

Niveshan designed and implemented a streamlined yet powerful IT infrastructure solution for the university, focusing on core networking and security components to meet the requirements for a secure and fast-paced academic environment.

  • Switches: Deployed a comprehensive network of enterprise-grade switches throughout the university campus. This included high-capacity core switches for the main data backbone, distribution switches for aggregating departmental networks, and access switches in classrooms, labs, and dormitories. These switches provided high-density Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, ensuring ample bandwidth for all users and devices. VLAN segmentation was strategically implemented to isolate different network segments (e.g., student, faculty, administration, guest) for enhanced security and performance.
  • Routers: Implemented robust routers at the network perimeter and within the core. These routers were responsible for efficient routing of internal network traffic, connecting the university network to the internet, and establishing secure pathways for various services. Redundant routing protocols were configured to ensure high availability and continuous network operation, even in the event of a primary link failure.
